Set the time signature first so the bar feels like 3/4 from the start. At 92 BPM on a 16th grid, the first job is hearing the grouping correctly before you place any smaller movement notes.
Place the large pulse or arrival points first, then add the lighter notes that connect them. That order stops the groove from collapsing back into a straight 4/4 way of thinking.
